ELEVATORS for crime prevention

Every year, crimes taking place in elevators are becoming more diverse and violent.
The enclosed space makes an elevator prone to everyday crimes.
In fact, many crimes such as sexual harassment, violence, and robbery have happened in elevators,
and the damage is growing.
To prevent such elevator crimes, Young Jin CRUZ II has its own Crime Prevention functions to discourage criminal activities in advance.

Current issues with crime prevention in elevators

• Functional limitations of current CCTVs

• Old elevators have poor lighting, making them prone to crimes
• Elevators continue to operate normally even in criminal situations
• No way to warn perpetrators
• The elevator is completely isolated, and there is no way to tell the outside world that a crime is happening inside the elevator

Crime prevention function

When noise or vibration from criminal activities is detected by sensors attached outside of the elevator car wall, signals such as warning lights and buzzer go off at the same time as the call to the situation room, and the car stops at the nearest floor and keeps the door open (for about 3 minutes) to help passengers escape from the dangerous situation.

The car then returns to the reference floor and waits with the door open.

Crime prevention process

01  Incident happens

02 Sensor detects voice and vibration

• Notifies the situation room(management office, nearby police station)
• Accident detection signals on the reference floor go off (warning light, buzzer)

03  Car stops on a nearest floor / passengers escapes / criminals become aware / alerts the situation room

04  Returns to the reference floor

05  Car waits with the door open
